With a little help from my friends: LifeTime singer’s delight as his lyrics turned into song

We cannot stop singing this song written by one of our LifeTime members!

Don Miller is a long-time part of the LifeTime choir, along with his wife Dot.

Choirmaster Rob Littler spotted Don’s skills as a wordsmith and with a little help from his (musical) friends turned his lyrics into a country-tinged tribute to Liverpool.

Well-known local artist Junior Dayvis set the piece to music and Gareth Heesom recorded the vocals.

Don studied marine engineering in the city during the 60s, at the height of Beatlemania – although he preferred the Rolling Stones, and it clearly had a lasting impression on him.

“We love singing,” said the former prison officer who now lives in Orford, Warrington, “but it is very strange to hear your own song being sung. It feels great!”

Have a listen – we challenge you not to find yourself humming A Liverpool Lad for the rest of the day!
